Utilization of the LACE index by transitions-of-care services versus standard of care to identify patients at high risk of readmission in an academic medical center

2 months 2 weeks ago
CONCLUSION: The LACE index potentially identified patients who could benefit from a TOC visit better than current methods. No difference was found between the methods for readmission rate, although significant limitations in study design could have affected the results. A method targeting patients for TOC visits could be explored by payors, as their patients could benefit from this service.

Middle Meningeal Artery Embolization for Subdural Hematoma: CT/MRI End Points of the EMBOLISE Trial

2 months 2 weeks ago
Background Chronic subdural hematomas (cSDHs) are associated with high recurrence risks following surgical evacuation. The EMBOLISE trial demonstrated that, compared with surgery alone, adjunctive middle meningeal artery embolization (MMAE) significantly reduced reoperation rates. However, given the limitations of the clinical end points of the trial, which may be subject to interrater variability and certain biases, the quantitative imaging metrics need to be evaluated. Purpose To evaluate the...

Factors Associated with Nutritional Risk in Colorectal Cancer Patients Undergoing Chemotherapy: A Secondary Analysis of a Cross-Sectional Study

2 months 2 weeks ago
Background/Objectives: Our previous study showed that the dietary structure is imbalanced in a majority of colorectal cancer patients receiving chemotherapy. These patients had higher risk of developing malnutrition. In the present study, we aimed to identify factors associated with nutritional risk in this cohort of patients. Methods: We performed a secondary analysis of a dataset that was originally collected to identify the factors that are associated with an imbalanced dietary structure in...

Render-Rank-Refine: Accurate 6D Indoor Localization via Circular Rendering

2 months 2 weeks ago
Accurate six-degree-of-freedom (6-DoF) camera pose estimation is essential for augmented reality, robotics navigation, and indoor mapping. Existing pipelines often depend on detailed floorplans, strict Manhattan-world priors, and dense structural annotations, which lead to failures in ambiguous room layouts where multiple rooms appear in a query image and their boundaries may overlap or be partially occluded. We present Render-Rank-Refine, a two-stage framework operating on coarse semantic...
