3D protoacoustic radiography: A proof of principle study

We propose protoacoustic radiography (PAR), an imaging modality combining proton excitation and acoustic detection for three-dimensional (3D) imaging from a single proton projection. PAR avoids the effect of multiple Coulomb scattering in imaging by detecting ultrasound. Proton-induced acoustic waves propagate spherically, enabling 3D imaging from a single projection. Additionally, the distinctive feature of proton beams-concentrating energy deposition primarily at the Bragg peak-allows for...

Bridging the Gap: Enhancing Prostate Cancer Survivorship and Advocacy Among Ethnically Diverse Black Men Through Community Town Halls

We present findings from town hall meetings held with ethnically diverse Black prostate cancer (CaP) survivors in 2022 and 2023. Four town halls (total participants, N = 265) focused on diagnosis, treatment, psychosocial support, and overall survivorship. Moderated by a long-term CaP survivor, each session featured a panel that included medical providers (urologic oncologists and clinical psychologists), as well as CaP survivors of American, Caribbean, and African origin and their spouses....

Cardiovascular outcomes with SGLT-2 inhibitors in individuals with diabetes and co-existing atrial fibrillation: A systematic review and meta-analysis

CONCLUSION: SGLT-2i reduced all-cause mortality, heart failure, stroke, and cardiovascular mortality in individuals with T2DM and atrial fibrillation. Large-scale, randomized controlled trials are warranted to confirm these findings.

Nursing Trauma and Coping: An Integrative Review

Nurses are exposed to traumatic situations in a plethora of settings. Continuous exposure to stressors and the inability to cope with trauma may result in the development of psychological disorders. An integrative review was conducted to analyze the state of the science concerning the impact of trauma in the nursing profession on nurses coping mechanisms. Inclusion criteria necessitated studies used qualitative or quantitative design, published in English language peer reviewed journals. A total...
