From Pathway to Practice: Implementing Evidence-Based Quality Improvement for ELBW Care

2 months 1 week ago
Structured clinical guidelines improve outcomes in neonatal care. At Oklahoma Children's Hospital, the need for a standardized approach to extremely low birth weight (ELBW) infants became urgent due to rising acuity and care variability. Despite existing nursing protocols, the unit lacked comprehensive interdisciplinary guidelines for ELBW infants. Key goals included reducing intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH), bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD), and retinopathy of prematurity...

An NSP2-MYB module orchestrates flavonoid biosynthesis and nodule symbiosis

2 months 1 week ago
Flavonoids, produced by the plant under nutrient stress, are required to initiate the legume-rhizobia symbiosis through the activation of rhizobial nod genes. Notwithstanding the central role of flavonoids in nodulation, their transcriptional regulation remains poorly understood. Here, we show that the nodulation signaling pathway 2 (NSP2) is required for transcriptional activation of flavonoid biosynthesis genes during nodulation in Medicago truncatula. Furthermore, MYB40, a legume-specific MYB...

Efficacy and safety of trilaciclib to prevent chemotherapy-induced myelosuppression in advanced solid tumors: a systematic review and meta-analysis

2 months 1 week ago
CONCLUSION: Trilaciclib significantly reduced CIM and the need for hematopoietic support during chemotherapy. It also showed a positive impact on efficacy outcomes without compromising chemotherapy effectiveness or increasing toxicity. Overall, our findings support trilaciclib's evolving role as a promising adjunct to chemotherapy protocols in appropriately selected patients.

Endless forms - how genome organization underlies evolution and development

2 months 1 week ago
Within the nucleus of each human cell, ∼2 m of linear DNA is compacted and organized. The structures and principles of genome organization are developmentally regulated and broadly evolutionarily conserved. However, conclusive links between genome structure and function have been difficult to find. In this Review, we provide an overview of mammalian genome organization, highlight recent studies demonstrating how it interacts with evolutionary diversity, and explore its contributions to...

Mortality Due to Aortic Dissection in Adults With Primary Hypertension: A Nationwide Analysis Over Two Decades

2 months 1 week ago
CONCLUSION: Significant differences were observed in AAPCs compared to AD-related mortality trends in the general population. Mortality trends revealed an initial decline followed by a gradual rise. Clinicians should focus on high-risk groups and raise awareness about the disease in these populations.
